How this estimate works

Hourly annual gross is regular pay plus overtime pay for your entered paid weeks. Overtime uses your hourly rate times the selected multiplier. Monthly gross is annual gross divided by 12. Annual salary uses your entered amount; a work schedule is needed only when you choose the Hourly view. With overtime, the hourly equivalent is an average across regular and overtime hours.

Automatic mode applies 2026 federal brackets and the basic standard deduction for your filing status. It uses the entered pay as the household's only income, with one wage earner, before tax credits or extra deductions. A selected flat percentage applies to all gross pay for a simple comparison; a marginal tax bracket normally applies only to the portion of taxable income in that bracket.

Employee Social Security uses 6.2% up to $184,500 in wages. Medicare uses 1.45%, plus 0.9% above the Additional Medicare Tax threshold for your filing status. The state / local percentage applies to gross pay. Monthly deductions are subtracted after the estimated taxes and do not adjust taxable income.

Overtime pay uses ordinary wage tax rates in this estimate. Eligible federal overtime deductions can reduce your final tax. Use the overtime rate that applies to your pay.
